The idea for the Nanobin came from Alice Hertz Dahl. As a new resident in Stockholm, she was surprised. How the streets were littered with cigarette butts. Late one night when she was bored and stood waiting for the bus, she began to count the number of cigarette butts on the bus stop, which ended at an alarmingly high figure. Alice quickly realized that to solve this problem, there must be a better way to dispose of our cigarette butts! Our streets should not be littered with them due to a lack of appropriate ashtrays.
